Job summary
The Psychology Department of Regional Health Authority A - Zone 5 is currently seeking a psychologist for the Forensic Psychiatry Unit at the Restigouche Hospital Centre. This unit is the provincial forensic expertise centre and serves New Brunswick French- and English-speaking individuals who committed one or several offenses. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, the psychologist is required to conduct a psychological assessment of patients to assess their criminal responsibility at the time of the offense and their fitness to stand trial. The psychologist may be required to present his or her reports in court from time to time.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Psychology;
- Member of the New Brunswick College of Psychologists or eligibility to become one;
- Capacity to work as part of a team;
- Written and spoken competence in English and French;
- Demonstrated interest and skills in working with target clients;
- Ability in writing up psychological reports;
- Good analytical skills;
- Independence.
Incentives will be offered in exchange for a 24-month return of service agreement.
