Regional Public Health Acknowledges National Immunization Awareness Week
Campbellton (NB) – Restigouche Health Authority – Public Health Service is proud to acknowledge National Immunization Awareness Week, which will be held April 20 to 26, 2008. It is an opportunity to highlight the importance of vaccination for all ages.
According to Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Yves Leger, “immunization is one of the single most important triumphs of the 20th century in terms of prevention. But, infectious diseases are nevertheless still present in Canada and around the world. Therefore, making sure that adult and child immunizations are up-to-date is a way of protecting yourself and people close to you against many severe infections.”
Restigouche Health Authority – Public Health advises the population to contact them at 789‑2266 to find out what vaccines they need and where they can get them.
